Islamic patterns are inspired from nature and are found in books, textiles and architecture. A lot of the islamic patterns found in manuscripts and Quranas have been illuminated and adorned with real gold. This artistic practice is referred to as Islamic Illumination.

The patterns she paints are based on geometric grids and rules. For the illuminations, she uses tea stained and hand treated paper, real gold 22-23 Ct and handmade natural colours or high quality readymade gouache. One simple piece takes a week to be completed; an average of ten to twenty hours of work.
